Mrs. Christy Le (Lê Diệp Kiều Trang) is Founder of Alabaster, a company that invests in founders building radical solutions for problems that can have a positive, planet-level impact. Christy focuses on working with Vietnamese entrepreneurs and growing the startup ecosystem in Vietnam.
Previously, she served as CEO of Go-Viet, an affiliate of GOJEK Group, which is an on-demand multi-service platform providing a range of services including transportation, logistics, food delivery and payments.
Before Go-Viet, she served as Country Director for Vietnam at Facebook. In her role, she led the team to focus on driving greater value and support for businesses across a number of industries in Vietnam, including eCommerce, consumer goods and services, financial services, technology, and telecommunications.
Prior to Facebook, Christy was the Managing Director of Fossil Vietnam and VP of Operations of Fossil Group, which acquired Misfit for $260M in 2015. At Misfit, a Silicon Valley startup that developed and marketed a number of award-winning wearable and smart home technology products, she was the CFO and COO from the company’s founding until its acquisition. The company leveraged its R&D and operations teams in Vietnam, China and the US to quickly grow to be a global leader in wearables in less than three years. Prior to Misfit, she was a consultant at McKinsey and an investment banker at HSBC.
Christy graduated Double First in Economics at Oxford (BA & MPhil) and as a Valedictorian and a Legatum Fellow at MIT Sloan. She is passionate about her two kids, working with amazing teams, and engaging in projects that seek to maximize human potential.

Dr. Duc Khuong Nguyen holds a MSc and a PhD in Finance from the University of Grenoble Alpes (France) and obtains his HDR (Habilitation for Supervising Doctoral Research) in Management Sciences in June 2009. He also completed the “Leaders in Development” program at Harvard University, John F. Kennedy School of Government, Executive Education (2013).

Anh Tran is an associate professor at SPEA, specializing in the governance issues of developing countries. Tran’s current research focuses on transparency, tax evasion, corruption, political networks, and their economic and social outcomes. His articles have appeared in the American Political Science Review, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Law and Economics, Journal of Public Economics, American Economic Journal: Applied Policy and other leading academic journals.
For the past five years, Tran has served as director of the Vietnam Initiatives at IU, a global think tank on development policies for Vietnam. He is also co-founder and director of the Vietnam Young Leaders Award, a scholarship program that brings exceptional government officials from Vietnam to the United States for postgraduate degrees.
Tran frequently works as consultant for reform initiatives by national governments, the United Nations and the World Bank, and has lived and worked in Russia, France, and Australia. Thanh Trung Do studied electrical engineering at the Technical University of Berlin and graduated in 2006 with a degree in electrical engineering and high-voltage engineering. From 2007 he was a Research Associate, Deputy Chief Engineer and lecturer at the Helmut Schmidt University and the Technical University Hamburg-Harburg. Dr. Huan X. Nguyen received the B.Sc. degree with the Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Vietnam, in 2000, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of New South Wales, Australia, in 2006. He was with several universities in U.K., including a Research Officer with Swansea University from 2007 to 2008 and a Lecturer with Glasgow Caledonian University from 2008 to 2010. He is currently an Associate Professor of communication networks and Head of 5G & IoT Research Group within the Faculty of Science and Technology, Middlesex University, London, U.K. He is member of the Faculty Research and Knowledge Transfer Committee and is currently coordinating the UK’s Research Excellence Framework (REF2021) team within the department.
His research interests include communications for critical applications, 5G and Internet of Things, machine learning and artificial intelligent for communications, and digital twin. He has published over 100 research papers, mainly in the IEEE journals and conferences. He has secured multiple large-size research grants from the Newton Fund and research councils in the UK, including several projects on 5G/smart transportation, digital twin modelling and research capacity building for academics with partners from universities in Vietnam. He is the Chair of the 2019 26th International Conference on Telecommunications (ICT 2019) and Co-Chair of the 2017 International Workshop on 5G Networks for Public Safety and Disaster Management (IWNPD 2017).
He is currently serving as an Editor for the KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Systems and the REV Journal on Electronics and Communications. Dr Nguyen is a Senior Member of the IEEE and member of the IEEE Communications Society. He is a Grant Reviewer for Nafosted funding body and frequent reviewer for many IEEE journals. Tam Vu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Oxford, UK and University of Colorado Boulder. He has found and been directing Mobile and Networked Systems Laboratory (MNS), where his team is focusing on building wireless and embedded systems to capture the surrounding physical and human context, secure critical cyber physical systems, and provide seamless network connectivity for CPS at the presence of mobility. These systems gravitate around health-care systems, smart buildings, transportation systems, and smart and connected cities.
His trailblazing contributions in the field lay a scientific foundation for a new type of embedded systems, called Earable Systems, which are robust, efficient, and effective ear-worn sensing and stimulation devices for long-term and unobtrusive healthcare and brain-computer interactions. In addition to that, he has been leading multiple projects supported by government agencies and industry with the total funding amount of more than $7.5M. The research outcomes of his lab are published in highly selective venues such as ACM MobiCom, ACM MobiSys, ACM Sensys, ACM SIGMETRICS, ACM CCS, among other venues.
Together with his collaborators, he has received a number of recognitions in embedded system research community including a Sloan Fellowship, NSF CAREER
award, two (02) Google Faculty Awards, and eleven (11) best paper awards, research highlights, and best paper award nominees in flagship venues such as ACM SenSys, MobiCom, and MobiSys. He founded two (02) startups and attracted external investments to turn his research results into commercial solutions based on the patents that he filed. His works also received wide press coverage including Denver post, CNN TV, Fox News Channel, National Public Radio (NPR), The NY Times, The Wall Street Journal, MIT TechReview, and Yahoo! News.
In addition to working on the cutting-edge research, he has been extensively involved in the Mobile System research community services, serving in the organizing team of MobiCom, MobiSys, SenSys, and IPSN, co-chairs for two workshops, delivering two keynotes speech at MobiHoc and SenSys workshops, chairing many technical sessions, being technical program committee member for

In the last three years, he has been a key member of the strategic project “Computational models to enhance food security and decision support in agriculture” funded by the USQ. Dr Chi Hieu Le graduated from Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST, Vietnam), Asian Institute of Technology (Thailand), Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium) and University of Greenwich (United Kingdom) respectively in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Systems Engineering, Biomedical Engineering and Higher Education. He is a Chartered Engineer (CEng), a member of Institution of Mechanical Engineers (MIMechE), and a fellow of Higher Education Academy (FHEA), United Kingdom (UK). Dr Chi Hieu Le is currently a Member of Advisory Board in Science and Technology for Saigon Hi-Tech Park, Vietnam, and Hi-Tech companies such as MD24 House Call (USA), Robot3T (Vietnam), and he is a CEO of VietSolutions (UK). Before working for University of Greenwich, he had been working for HUST and Cardiff University (UK) as a lecturer and a senior research fellow for 12 years.
Dr Chi Hieu Le has been actively working in Higher Education (Learning, Teaching and Assessment), Research & Technology Development (R&D), Technology Transfer, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, especially in Innovative Product Development, Advanced Manufacturing (CAD/CAM/CNC, 3D Printing & Additive Manufacturing, Micro-Nano Manufacturing), Robotics & Automations, Engineering Management, and Biomedical Engineering (Telehealth, In-Home Healthcare, 2D/3D Medical Image Processing, Personalised Implants, Biomedical Hi-Tech Products & Services).
Since 2000, Dr Chi Hieu Le and his team have been fruitfully collaborating and working with medical doctors and surgeons in Vietnam, including Central Military Hospital 108 and Cho Ray Hospital, in Biomedical technology transfer, and innovative development of Biomedical Hi-Tech products and services to improve the safety and quality of medical diagnosis and treatments, which were well-featured in Newspapers in Vietnam such as Tuoi Tre, Vietnam News and Tia Sang, especially innovative developments of personalised implants and medical devices for bone reconstructions and surgical planning.
Dr Chi Hieu Le also served as a member of editorial boards for several scientific and technological journals, and frequently a member of the scientific and organising committee of international conferences. He is also a project evaluator for funding organisations such as Wellcome Trust (UK), The Royal Society (UK: Global Challenges Research Fund), Welsh Assembly Government (UK), NIHR – Invention for Innovation (i4i) Programme (Department of Health, National Institute for Health Research – DH NIHR, UK), and British Council. He annually serves as a visiting professor and an invited speaker at Higher Education Institutions in Vietnam, Thailand, China and Europe.
Dr Chi Hieu Le is a co-founder of the Vietnam-UK Network of Higher Education, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (www.vuheie.org), which has been successfully secured at least 600,000 USD of the external funding for R&D activities in the last 4 years, with the active engagements and networking activities from scientist, researchers and experts between Vietnam, ASEAN and the UK, as well as the fruitful University-Business collaborations.

Dr. Luu Vinh Toan, Information Retrieval Expert, Move Digital AG, President of Association of Vietnamese Intellectuals and Experts in Switzerland.
Dr. Toan obtained his PhD in the domain of Decentralized Information Retrieval Systems from the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL) in 2007.
He has more than 15 years of experience in Information Extraction and Information Retrieval in several companies and startup in Switzerland where he holds search innovation lead positions. He also gave talk at the European Apache Big Data Conference in 2015.
Before coming to Switzerland, he had several awards in National Olympiad in Informatics and selected as Vietnamese delegation to attend International Festival of Youth and Students.
Recently, Dr. Toan contributes actively his opinions in the domain artificial intelligent, unstructured data processing, digital transformation to magazines of Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology. He also participated in some projects of AVSE Global like Knowledge Center, Vietnamese Abroad Resource Map, and Vietnamese Talent Survey.

Dr. Nguyen Dinh Quy is currently a Development Manager and Senior R&D engineer in Mitsubishi Electric in Cambridge, MA, USA. He is working on research collaboration with MIT on Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning and Factory Automation. Previously, he was a Project Manager and Senior Electrical Engineer at Schlumberger Ltd. for digital transformation and process automation. He hold doctoral degree on electrical and electronics engineering from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore.
In addition, he is a co-founder of VietSearch team and website for a large database collection and statistics on Vietnamese professionals and communities over the world. VietSearch is a future platform for Vietnamese people connecting and collaborating to foster Vietnam’s education and business. He was also a co-founder and president of the Vietnamese Youth Volunteer (VYV) Organization from 2006. VYV is a non-profit organization to help difficulty children in Vietnam.
